Chris, when I buy the white Tyvek from Uline . I get a 24" X 150' roll. 7.5 mil, Type 10 G. I call their toll free number and talk to a real human! I always order over the phone. Let me look at the Material Concepts website and

Thanks again for your fabulous resources here.
I'm wondering if you could share the type (or types) of Tyvek that you use - type, size, etc. I've gone to the Material Concepts website, and there seems to be a dizzying array of choices.
The
Tyvek and Typar housewrap that I've seen online here in Canada both seem to have big product-name lettering and logos on them, which I don't think is what I'm after...

Ahh, yes! Pickett’s Charge, a crankie masterpiece. Katherine Fahey did the artwork on that. Things I learned from watching was the artful way she transitions between scenes. Also the use of colored backlighting to add color to some
of the scenes. The music gorgeous as well. I think I will watch it again today. Take good care!

Hi Donna! Black Tyvek comes on a roll. I purchase mine online from Material Concepts. I wonder if that is was you are seeing? Also, Sue Sellow used black Pellon interfacing and embroidered on that. Or, black Eco-Fi felt is another
option. Which crankie are you referring to, or who was the crankist?

I have not made a “hands-free” crankie but Charmaine Slaven in Seattle from The Tallboys has. She used the gears and crank from a hand drill. She attached
a pedal to that and would strap her foot to the pedal! I need to ask her to send some pictures to me. I will see if she can send and I will forward. Here is a photo.

I do not have a formula for the length. It depends if you are stopping on each scene or continuously cranking or a combination
of both. For me, having an 18” high scroll 3.5 minutes would be between 30-50 feet long scroll. For now, just keep going till it’s done! Send a photo and good luck!!

We have a movng panorama or myriopticon probably from the 30' wth three reels, a train with coaches, animal farm and Snow White. The name of the thing (or the manufacturer) is Ki-Bi-Bu. Would you happen to know where i can find out more about
t. Haven't found anything on-line a part from this great web site.

Hi there! This is a fab website! I am a very novice crankie maker and I see some black backgrounds that are not fabric and they don't seem like painted tyvek because they are so very opaque and seem to stand up to cutouts. I can't imagine any black construction
paper on a big roll, so I'm wondering if you have any insight into how they are doing this! Thank you!!!!

I sure do love your website, and the crankie world. Haven't seen one live yet, or made one, but I sure want to.
Do you have any info on how to build a crankie that can be operated hands-free, so that I could play a musical instrument
and still make it go? I haven't seen anything like that in my search so far... Like a pedal, or a treadle, or something to work with my leg/knee/foot? Just wondering...
